Fantastic fireworks fun

Stephen Bain

After the first ever public Fireworks Night held at our Surrey HQ, volunteer Stephen reflects on the success of the evening… The skies lit up over Tadworth Court at The Children's Trust National Specialist Centre on Friday 27 October when The Children’s Trust’s first ever firework’s night went off with an all-mighty bang. Selling over 600 tickets, families braved the autumn conditions to support us during this exciting evening. Children were treated to a face-paint stand and adults could relax with a drink and some food before the show began. The mood was pleasant and welcoming. The child-friendly fireworks display was a fun treat for the little ones and an appetiser of what was to come. The final firework display was undoubtedly the highlight of the night. Lasting a full 10 minutes, the display wowed onlookers and truly surpassed expectations. The backdrop of the historic Tadworth Court made this a truly unique, spectacular display and the addition of the ‘flamethrower’ effect was the perfect finishing touch. It’s fair to say that the evening was a roaring success with many parents enquiring about another event next year as the evening concluded. Let’s certainly hope so! We have loads of festive fundraising events going on this autumn and winter, both at our Surrey HQ and around the country. Check out our upcoming events to find out more.
