The Little Break Appeal

The Little Break Appeal
It doesn't matter how much love you have, when your child has a brain injury or neurodisability, every day and night can sometimes feel like an impossible challenge. And in the holidays, it only gets harder. You can help us take the pressure off - for an hour, a day, a weekend - so an exhausted parent can recharge their batteries, breathe out, get some sleep and support their child with renewed energy and determination.

A little break makes all the difference...

£20 A few hours of pure fun

You could cover a child enjoying a visiting mobile pet farm, while their parents relax and our staff do the looking after.

£30 An afternoon out

This could give a child an exciting outing with other children, with ice-creams, a picnic and specialist nursing staff, giving mum and dad a desperately needed afternoon off.

£60 Weekend sleepover

You could help towards giving a child with brain injury or neurodisability a weekend sleepover with us, full of things to do that we have the space and adaptations for, like cooking and music.

Please give a loving parent a little break

A bucket and spade
"Having the chance to join in with activities - like the mobile pet farm or the clown doctors or going out on a trip to the seaside for the day - can be a pathway for children with brain injury back into the outside world. We rely on donation to pay for every minute of this." Keren Holding, Leisure and Activities Coordinator
Families of children with a brain injury, who require around the clock care, describe having a break where their child’s medical needs are met as a crucial lifeline, and something that’s becoming increasing difficult to find. Not only are short breaks essential 'time out' for parents who provide 24/7 care, they provide children with complex needs an opportunity to make new friends and participate in fun activities they may not be able to access at home.
